Course summary
Join this adult beginners workshop to learn the craft of blacksmithing (for ages 17+).
You will learn how to use the hammer, make the end of a round metal bar into a gum leaf, including creating a shoulder that becomes the leaf stem, draw down then shape the leaf, add veins, drill a hole, and add a necklace string, before finishing with beeswax.
This workshop is both engaging and calming, the perfect activity to unplug and get creative.

About the tutor
Rob Nansen (Jesses Stump Blacksmithing and Bush Furniture) is a Melbourne based artisan who works with iron and wood using traditional hand tools and techniques. Along with creating original pieces, Rob facilitates beginner workshops so others can also experience these slow and meditative crafts.
