Slow stitching and the art of mending

Course summary

This workshop will introduce you to the Boro slow stitching style, which is a Japanese mending and decorative form using running stitching. Perfect for the beginner and experienced sewer. BYO piece of cloth or favourite clothing to stitch.

  • Sashiko and other running stitch techniques
  • transferring and making sashiko patterns
  • decorative running stitching including Boro
  • basic mending using running stitching

  • start a sashiko or other running stitch project to take home

  • all material provided but feel free to bring some of your own materials

About the tutor

Liza Grace has enjoyed a life long passion for all things sewing. Her many years of experience include sewing for family and friends, making children’s clothing, bags and items for sale. Liza enjoys teaching beginners sewing as it allows her to pass on her vast knowledge and skills to others.
