9.00am – 11.00am: Face Painting fun with Carmel
Learn the basic strokes, colour mixing and simple designs to face paint fabulously! Have fun getting into your creative zone to paint your face, arm or friend with non-toxic water based paints.
About the Tutor
Carmel Gerdsen was Yarraville West’s Primary School local face painting teacher for over 7 years as well as the owner of Faces Ta-dah! since 2008. Carmel retired from face painting in 2019 but is reviving these classes JUST for you!
11.00am – 2.00pm: Cooking with Susan: Feta and spinach borek and apple, sultana and cinnamon scrolls
Gather in the kitchen with Susan to make and bake your own lunch and dessert. You might even make some to share with your family when you get home. Yum! (recipes can be adjusted to suite dietary requirements)
About the tutor
Susan Stojanova has been cooking since she was 12 years old. She continues to create and experiment with old time European recipes and loves sharing her recipes, tips and variations. All of Susan’s classes use her own recipes and she gets great pleasure from seeing the enjoyment on her students faces when they taste their creations. Family, friends and students say that her baklava is the best!
2.00pm – 4.30pm: Mix it up Sculpture
There are no limits to this class! Create your own individual sculptures and works of art using a variety of recycled materials such wood, terracotta pots, cardboard, plastic and embellish with beads, sequins, glitter, paint and feathers. It will ignite imagination, creativity, exploration and most importantly you will have fun in a nurturing environment. Wear casual clothes, it might get messy!
About the Tutor
Anna Kolusniewski is a practising artist, teacher, jewellery and costume designer. Anna teaches a variety of art and craft classes across Melbourne, suitable for all age groups and always lots of hands-on creative fun. Anna believes everyone has the ability to be creative and with positive encouragement can produce beautiful artwork. She also believes creativity has a calming effect on children and builds confidence through a sense of achievement, she loves inspiring children to push the boundaries of what they think they are capable of to send them to next level.
- Please ensure children are dropped off at YCC, 59 Francis Street, Yarraville between 8.45am and 9.00am.
- Children will need to be picked up by 4.30 pm.
- Please let reception staff know if your child has any allergies.
- All materials and lunch provided. BYO snacks, drink, and apron. Casual clothes the kids can get messy in.
