Course summary

If you bake bread and have your own sourdough starter culture at home then this fabulous “new” workshop is for you.

Our local sourdough enthusiast, Michael Slee, will open your eyes to what you can make from one humble dough.

Michael will share recipes and techniques that you can apply to sourdough and yeasted bread dough.
Let’s build on your basic sourdough making skills and learn how versatile sourdough can actually be.

Week 1: Making Pitta bread, English muffins & Grissini from one dough
Week 2: Making Sourdough crackers, Crispbread & Lean about the Kiss Crust!

All ingredients and recipes will be provided.

Suitable for anybody that wants to build on their basic sourdough making skills.

What you will learn

  • new techniques and methods to knead, roll and cut dough in all shapes and sizes

  • doughy fingers!
  • extensive tips, skills and knowledge
  • a variety of tantalizing recipes
  • take home samples of pitta bread, English muffins and Grissini (unless you eat everything you make!)

What you need to bring

  • apron
  • 2 or 3 large containers & lid to take home what you have made
  • wear closed toe shoes

About the tutor

Michael & his wife Therese have been baking bread for most of their adult life. Keen experimenters they embraced sourdough in the early 2000s and through curiosity discovered that there are no limits to what can be made using a sourdough culture (starter) and an ordinary domestic kitchen & oven. They enjoy sharing the secrets, which aren’t really so secret!
