Udon noodles for parents and kids

Course summary

Making your own udon noodles is fun! In this workshop you and your child will learn how to knead and flatten udon dough before making udon noodles from scratch.

Using organic flour, organic corn flour, salt, shredded dry bonito, dried kelp and soy sauce, you will team up with your partner to create long, sticky udon noodles to use in a warm Japanese style udon soup which you will enjoy at the end of the class.

*Please note the ticket price includes one parent and one child.

What you will learn

  • udon dough to take home to serve 1-2 people

What to bring

  • apron
  • sandwich size (or larger) ziploc bag to take the udon dough home
  • rolling pin (if you have one and are able to bring it to use)

About the tutor

This workshop is presented by Shotaro from Ferm.shed Mamehana. Shotaro is a Japanese fermenter who loves cooking and introducing traditional Japanese food to local people. Find out more about Japanese fermenting at Ferm.shed Mamehana.
