Adult beginner Ballet plus

Course summary

This class is suitable for students who attended last term’s Adult Ballet Beginners class or anybody that has a little experience in ballet and would like to reengage and get moving again.

Regardless of age, ability or fitness, the aim of this class is to have fun!

Ballet is for everyone, and it’s never too late to get back into it or give it a go as an adult.

The overarching aim is to create a safe, supportive environment to help build confidence level and learn build on your basic beginner ballet skills through simple barre exercises, corner and centre work.

What you will learn

  • build on beginner ballet skills
  • stretching and reconnecting with your body
  • strengthening your core stabilisers/muscles
  • improve balance and posture
  • increase flexibility (in a safe & steady way)

What you need to bring

  • water bottle
  • towel
  • wear loose and comfortable clothes
  • dance shoes only if you have them, otherwise socks *No runners or hard shoes

About the tutor

Amelia (Millie) Leach is a passionate young dance teacher who has extensive experience in performing and teaching. Having previously worked within the local dance community for six years, she has a strong enthusiasm for bringing opportunities for dance and movement further into the community sector.

Combining her Certificate IV in full time dance, work experience and variety of performance experience (most recently WMTC’s May-June season of Mamma Mia and Scimm Dance Company’s ‘Nexus’ program), she hopes to foster a safe, fun environment for young movers to learn creatively.

On offer – numerous term-based classes tailored to different ages, from toddler and preschool creative movement classes all the way to intermediate jazz classes!
