Brazillian Drumming Circle - Taster Workshop

Course summary

This class will held at Beaton Reserve behind Blackwood Street Neighbourhood House, please note it is outdoors and weather dependent. 

A high energy class in Samba Drumming (traditional Brazilian music played during Carnival) suitable for complete beginners. In this taster session you will use one drum to learn one of the three parts of Fanfarra – the most popular song for samba dancing during Carnival. Bring your enthusiasm and leave with a smile on your face! Gloves and santiser provided, drums will not be shared – masks to be worn and social distancing will be expected in this outdoor class. Age 16+ under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.

What you will learn

    • 3 different types of drums from a Samba drumming line
    • How to play the part for a particular drum
    • Create a samba rhythm together as a group

About the tutor 
A professional Samba drummer for years, Adrian loves the passion and energy of Brazilian culture and music. His credits include performing with Speranza Entertainment at many events including alongside Anthony Callea at ‘Carols by Candlelight’.   Share the excitement he brings to the workshop that comes with Samba drumming together!
