Course summary
Yarraville Community Choir is a welcoming, safe, non-audition choir that is open to all. Especially welcome to those who have anxiety around singing or have never had lessons. In being a member of this choir you will be taught the mechanisms of your voice, safe singing practices, breathing and support techniques, a variety of engaging warmups and a number of songs from a variety of genres.
What you will need
- Bring a mask and your mobile phone to check in using QR code
- Bottle of water incase you get a dry throat from singing
- Definitely do not attend if you are ill

- Learn to connect with your authentic singing voice
- Gain confidence by singing with others
- Improve vocal range with exercises and warm-ups
- Learn to hold a harmony
- Learn safe singing techniques
- Learn to “sing as one” with attention to phrasing and breathing
- Learn a number of songs of various genres
- Gain confidence in performance skills

About the tutor
Elissa Rodger is an engaged and energetic Vocal Coach and trained mentor with 10+ years of hands-on experience in vocal coaching.
She studied a Bachelor of Music performance (Voice) at the Victorian College of the Arts and hold my Grade 8 AMEB in singing.
Specialising in performance technique, stage presence, safe singing and musical interpretation.
