As part of the 2019 Victorian Seniors festival, join us and the Yarraville Trugo Club on Tuesday 8th October and learn how to play this unique local sport, developed in Yarraville – the home of Trugo! Starting off with a ‘how to’ demonstration by Yarraville Trugo Club, then you can have a go yourself of this great game.
Meet at YCC’s neighbourhood house – 114 Blackwood st, Yarraville at 2.20pm & we will walk through beautiful Beaton reserve to the Trugo club (or meet us there – 48 Fehon street, Yarraville) for a 2.30pm start.
What is Trugo?
Trugo is a ‘true blue aussie game’ played on a grass court by hitting rubber rings with a wooden mallet from one end of the green to goal posts at the other. It is like a cross between croquet, wood chopping, lawn bowls and AFL football! Trugo takes about one and a half hours to play & we will complete the afternoon with a complimentary Devonshire tea back at the YCC Neighbourhood house in Blackwood st.
