About the tutor
With a deep-rooted passion for food and a love for bringing people together, Kate Ngo is dedicated to teaching the art of cooking and baking in an interactive and fun way.
Kate was raised in a refugee camp in Hong Kong and had very limited exposure to different culinary and cuisines in early childhood however that environment didn’t stop her from having a desire to cook/ bake and create delicious meals and treats for her family and friends.
Kate used to run a baking business for several years and specialised in Asian cooking, baking, and patisserie and very passionate about wholesome yet creative dishes that not only tantalise your tastebuds but also pleasing the eyes. Living with allergies herself, Kate’s recipes can be adapted to be allergy-friendly (such as gluten-free, nut-free, egg-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and vegan).
12.00pm – 12.30pm: Lunch Break
12.30pm – 3.30pm: Making a Spring Plant Pot with Succulents and a Decorative Grass Head
In the afternoon, your children will paint and decorate their own plaster plant pot, and turn it into a beautiful spring garden ornament with vibrant succulents! They also make a spring grass head, an adorable little plant made of lawn seed, moss and clean sawdust and potting mix. It is a horticultural experience of designing and decorating unique characters using simple gardening materials which are sure to thrive. In about two weeks, you will start to see the green “hair” sprouting from your grass head, so be patient and enjoy the process!
