Suitable for children aged between 7 and 12 years old.
9.30am – 12.30pm: Making a Wild Creature
In the morning, your children will create their own unique tissue mache creature. Whether it is a fantastical monster, a cute animal, or an alien from outer space, the only limit is their creativity! Start with a sketch, and use materials like paper, papier-mâché, cardboard, glue, and tape to create their very own sculptures. Finish off the masterpiece with vibrant colours and decorations!
This workshop is all about exploring creativity, teamwork, and having a blast while making something truly unique.
About the tutor
Ilona is a sculptor, creativity coach and art therapist with a vision to support students in creating their unique work. Ilona has been a creative professional for almost three decades and after many years of focusing on art, international exhibitions, art fairs, and everything that’s involved with being a professional artist.
12.30pm – 1.00pm: Lunch Break
1.00pm – 3.30pm: Cooking Desserts – Cake Pops and Bars
In the afternoon, your children will get their hands messy and learn the art of making perfect Cake Pops and Bars. The tutor, Kate will guide your children through creating delicious cake pops and mouth-watering bars that are as fun to make as they are to eat. The children will learn essential techniques, tips for decorating, and how to make their yummy cake pops and bars stand out!
About the tutor
With a deep-rooted passion for food and a love for bringing people together, Kate Ngo is dedicated to teaching the art of cooking and baking in an interactive and fun way.
Kate was raised in a refugee camp in Hong Kong and had very limited exposure to different culinary and cuisines in early childhood however that environment didn’t stop her from having a desire to cook/ bake and create delicious meals and treats for her family and friends.
Kate used to run a baking business for several years and specialised in Asian cooking, baking, and patisserie and very passionate about wholesome yet creative dishes that not only tantalise your tastebuds but also pleasing the eyes. Living with allergies herself, Kate’s recipes can be adapted to be allergy-friendly (such as gluten-free, nut-free, egg-free, soy-free, dairy-free, and vegan).
IMPORTANT:
- Please ensure children are dropped off at YCC, 59 Francis Street, Yarraville at 9.15am.
- Children will need to be picked up by 3.30pm sharp.
- Please let us know if your child has any allergies.
- All materials provided.
- BYO apron, snacks, lunch and drink.
- Bring a container to take some cake pops and bars home.
- Casual clothes the children can get messy in.
