YCC is a vibrant community hub that provides education, training and support to more than 2000 people each week.

Short courses and workshops

Each term we offer a wide range of courses and workshops, from art and languages through to cooking, craft, gardening and a whole lot more. There’s definitely something for everyone to learn and enjoy.

Our community services include a food pantry, a little book library, help to receive financial support, as well as free community initiatives such as knitting groups and a child car restraint fitting service, plus much more! Here we share community and YCC news and events on our blog.

Education and training programs

We offer a range of government funded accredited and pre-accredited training programs including, literacy, English, computers, youth, employment programs and more. Our vocational education and training programs are delivered with the support of State and Federal Governments, and are Centrelink-approved.

Food Relief Program

The Nourish Project provides delicious and nutritious meals at no cost, cooked weekly.

The food relief program rescues surplus food from landfill and transforms this donated food into nutritious meals which are distributed and provided free to people in need.

Childcare

We offer high quality, affordable childcare in a happy, safe and healthy environment for children aged 6 months to 5 years. Our stimulating and inclusive programs allow children to enjoy a range of age-appropriate activities.

Venue hire / functions

For your meetings, conferences, training sessions, private parties and art exhibitions – our unique heritage venue at Francis Street and old quarryman’s residence at Blackwood Street have rooms available for hire at very reasonable rates. Our premises in Victoria Street, Footscray has 6 brand new classrooms which are also ideal for meetings, conferences or courses.
