Course summary
Join us at Yarraville Community Centre for a light‑hearted yet revealing creative writing workshop for women. Inviting participants to explore identity and self‑image with honesty and compassion. In this taster session, you’ll experiment with observing and writing the external world, practice letting words flow without self‑editing, and delve into how your sense of self has been shaped, offered in celebration of International Women’s Day. Led by Jennie Swain, who is a writer, composer, music and choir director, educator and activist with heart and humour. She has great enthusiasm for the transformative and healing power of music and storytelling.
Emerge from the session with:
- a writing practice that can have the benefits of meditation
- a writing practice that helps you connect with yourself
- a few pages of words and ideas, some of which may surprise you
- an exploration of identity, with a special focus on self-image, in celebration of IWD
What you will need to bring
- Please bring your own note pad and pencil
- Light afternoon tea and refreshments will be available
