Tie Dye Creative Workshop

Course summary

In this vibrant, hands‑on session, you dive into the colourful world of tie dye from the very first fold. You’ll explore a variety of folding and binding techniques that shape each pattern, experimenting with twists, pleats, and wraps that transform plain fabric into something expressive and unexpected. As the workshop unfolds, you’ll also play with colour theory and colour mixing—discovering how hues interact, and how to choose colour combinations that make your design pop.

Before the creative magic begins, we take a moment to cover essential safety instructions and prepare your garments so you can work confidently and comfortably. With guided support through the full tying and dyeing process, you’ll learn how to apply rubber bands, place your dyes with intention, and watch your piece come to life as the colours soak and swirl into the fabric.

The workshop wraps up with clear washing instructions to ensure your finished creation stays bright, bold, and wearable long after the class ends. It’s a joyful, expressive experience where simple garments become one‑of‑a‑kind pieces, and where you leave not just with something beautiful, but with the skills and confidence to keep creating on your own.

This workshop welcomes older adults who want to learn at their own pace.
