These activities are ideal for youngsters aged 6 to 12!

Make your own Schultüte and Venetian Masks!

Travel across Europe through creativity in this fun and colourful Children’s Week 2026 workshop! Children will decorate their own mini German Schultüte, the special cone traditionally given to children in Germany on their first day of school and filled with treats and school supplies. They will also design and create their own Venetian mask, inspired by the beautifully decorated masks made famous in Venice, Italy and its world-renowned Carnival celebrations.

This creative workshop encourages children to explore and celebrate different cultures while expressing their own unique ideas through art. It’s a wonderful way to connect with this year’s Children’s Week theme:Children have the right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practise their religion”

This Children’s Week event is presented by Yarraville Community Centre Inc. in partnership with the Victorian Government.
