Join us during Adult Learners Week for a free, interactive Climate Preparedness Session designed to help community members understand local climate risks, prepare for emergencies, and build resilience.

Kindly delivered by GenWest, this informative session will explore local climate challenges such as heatwaves and flooding, while providing practical strategies for household preparedness, financial readiness, emergency planning, and emotional wellbeing.

Participants will gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to stay safe, connected, and resilient before, during, and after climate-related events.

The program covers:

  • Understanding Climate Change and Local Climate Risks – Gain a deeper understanding of climate change, the risks facing your local area, and the potential effects on individual and community health and wellbeing.
  • Practical Readiness and Wellbeing – Build household and financial resilience, learn how to access emergency services and support networks, and develop strategies to maintain emotional wellbeing before, during, and after emergencies.
This session offers a supportive and practical learning environment, empowering participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to prepare for a changing climate and respond effectively to emergencies.
