Course summary
Over the course of this creative experience, you will be introduced to the fundamentals of fused glass – a technique where layers of glass are arranged and then kiln-fired to fuse into a single piece.
In the first session, you’ll learn about the tools, materials, and safety practices involved in glass fusing. With guidance and inspiration, you’ll design and assemble three one-of-a-kind glass pendants, choosing from a variety of colourful glass pieces, frits, and stringers to bring your vision to life.
After the session, your creations will be carefully transported and fired in a professional kiln off-site. This process enhances the colours and smooths the edges, transforming your designs into polished, wearable art.
You’ll return one week later to collect your pendants—stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces that make perfect keepsakes or heartfelt handmade gifts. The tutor will be happy to add pendant bails, so you can easily complete your creations by assembling them with a necklace of your choice. During this follow-up, you’ll also have the opportunity to pick up tips and inspiration for further exploring the world of fused glass.
