Course summary
Join us for a hands-on, 6-hour workshop where you’ll craft your own personalised leather journal cover. Each cover is lined with soft, pre-coloured leather and designed to fit a fully removable A5 journal, diary, or notebook with a magnetic closure.
During the session, you’ll cut and design your outer cover, then dye and finish it to your liking. You’ll also insert the magnets and hand-stitch all the pieces together using your choice of coloured waxed thread.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a beautifully finished, one-of-a-kind leather journal cover to take home.

About the tutor
Wendy Tonkin is a fully qualified and experienced leather worker and instructor. Wendy’s Leather Learning is a new business dedicated to providing quality leatherworking tutorials to individuals, craft enthusiasts, and community groups throughout Victoria. With a focus on intimate, hands-on workshops, participants are guided through safe tool use, skill development, and environmentally conscious practices, all while completing beautiful, functional leather projects. Each session uses natural, earthy leather to craft bespoke, handmade items that are both practical and personal. Wendy’s approach blends traditional craftsmanship with a modern appreciation for sustainability and creativity.
