This 4-week continuation course is perfect for anyone who completed our Sewing Beginner’s 4 Week Crash Course or has basic machine confidence and wants to keep building their skills.
Each week, we’ll work on fun, beginner-friendly projects designed to grow your confidence, get you comfortable with different fabrics, and leave you with practical, handmade pieces to be proud of. Each session is designed to boost your confidence, introduce you to a variety of fabrics and techniques, and help you develop greater independence at the sewing machine.
By the end of the course, you’ll have created a collection of practical, handmade pieces you can be proud of—while continuing to strengthen your sewing knowledge in a relaxed, supportive environment.

- sewing machine *must be in working condition or recently serviced
- tool kit & sewing materials for projects (scrap fabrics, zipper, etc) *Tool kit and material size will be advised in the class
- sewing accessories – scissors, thread, chalk, pins, needles, measuring tape
About the tutor
Amanda Lobo is a passionate fashion design educator and sewing mentor based in Melbourne’s west. Known for her hands-on, inclusive teaching style, she empowers students of all ages to explore creativity through fabric and design.
Outside the classroom, Amanda runs The Sorting Company, a home organising business, and creates handmade textile goods under her label NudiBags.
