Join us at the Yarraville Community Centre for a Digital Boost session centered around learning the power of everyday APPS.
This session is designed to empower older adults with the digital skills needed to navigate today’s tech driven world. In this hands-on workshop, community members will be introduced to practical apps they can use on their smart phones or tablets. With a focus on everyday convenience, productivity and social connection.
The session is there to support you with any of your digital needs and will be open to questions and any particular areas you would like to discover. The event will include guided sessions and personalised support lead by digital mentors.
Support includes:
- How to use APPS such as Mygov, Centrelink, Chat GPT, Perplexity AI, shopping applications
- Explain what APPS mean and go through examples
- Include talk on safety using APPS
- Proceed with teaching the practical part and usage
Participants learn how to:
- Search and download various APPS
- Learn the basics of safety using APPS
- Gain practical skills, stay connected, enhance your digital independence
- Build confidence, bridge the digital divide in a supportive friendly environment
Get Online Week 2025 is taking place between 20-26 October, with hundreds of local events happening nationwide. It is Australia’s largest community-led digital inclusion campaign. Organised by Good Things Australia, Get Online Week reaches more than 15,000 Australians annually, helping them improve their digital skills.
