Holiday Cook-Up Fun Adventure

Course summary

Get ready for a full day of cooking adventure!

Children will start the morning cooking Pancit Canton (Stir Fried Noodle) and Filipino Spring Rolls for their own lunch, then switch to sweet creativity in the afternoon. It’s savoury fun, sweet delights, and hands‑on kitchen magic all in one day.

What parents love most about YCC’s school holiday programs is that they’re always unique and a little bit different. And not to mention, so much FUN!

Suitable for children aged between 7 and 12 years old.

9.30am – 12.30pm: Making lunch – Pancit Canton (Stir Fried Noodles) & Filipino Spring Rolls

In the morning, your children will explore fresh ingredients, earn real kitchen skills, and create Filipino spring rolls with beef and mixed vegetables and stir-fried noodles with chicken and vegetable from scratch. Guided by their friendly instructor, children chop, mix, roll, and cook their way through a fun and flavour-packed morning. It’s a joyful, hands‑on way to spend the school break, make new friends and discover the excitement of cooking.

12.30pm – 3.30pm: Making Filipino Coconut Macaroons (Cupcakes)

After lunch, roll up your sleeves for making the sweet world of Filipino baking as we whip up a batch of irresistible coconut macaroons. These golden, soft, and delightfully chewy mini–cupcake-style treats are a beloved favourite across generations.
You’ll learn how to create their signature texture, infuse them with rich coconut flavour, and enjoy the comforting aroma that fills the kitchen as they bake. It’s a relaxed session perfect for beginners, families, and anyone with a sweet tooth.

About the tutor

Food and storytelling sit at the heart of Kristina Naray’s life practice as a cook, host and cultural storyteller, of mixed Bisaya Subanen Filipino and Hungarian heritage. She holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences, majoring in Nutrition and Health Promotion, with her career spanning community nutrition education, and digital health in the healthcare sector, to hosting intimate pop-up lunches and dinners, and teaches cooking workshops, where she shares dishes and practices passed down from her family and communities.
Kristina is part of The Entree Pinays, a collective of entrepreneurial Filipinas introducing Filipino cuisine, culture and community to Australia. Each dish she shares celebrates pre-colonial Filipino foodways often dismissed as provincial farmers’ food, despite being among the most nourishing, sustainable, and culturally rich practices in the Philippines.
