Course summary
This holiday program wraps children in a world of movement, colour, and delicious discovery.
Children will dance, create, laugh, and learn — shaping memories as vibrant as the shirts they design and as sweet as the treats they make.
It’s a day that celebrates creativity in all its forms, from expressive movement to hands‑on making, all in a supportive environment.
What parents love most about YCC’s school holiday programs is that they’re always unique and a little bit different. And not to mention, so much FUN!
Suitable for children aged between 7 and 12 years old.
9.30am – 10.30am: Creative Dance Workshop
This 60-minute dance class for children starts with a fun and energetic warm-up set to popular songs that children know and love, helping them build confidence and get moving. Children will then learn a simple, engaging dance routine step by step, focusing on enjoying the music and movement. The class finishes with a relaxed mini showcase, where students can share what they’ve learned.
10.30am – 12.00pm: Tie Dye Workshop
Children will dive into the colourful world of tie-dye while learning a mix of creative and hands-on skills. Throughout the workshop, they will explore different folding and binding techniques to create unique patterns, experiment with colour theory and colour mixing to achieve vibrant results, and learn how to apply rubber bands and dyes to bring their designs to life.
Please email [email protected] to let us know your child’s Classic Fit T-Shirt size.

12.30pm – 3.30pm: Filipino Twisted Donut Workshop
Discover the delight of making shakoy, the beloved Filipino twisted donut that’s crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and irresistibly comforting.
Children will learn how to create shakoy from scratch and pair it with rich, golden latik — a coconut caramel that adds the perfect touch of sweetness. They’ll also explore a delicious variation filled with bukayo, a tender shredded coconut caramel that melts beautifully into every bite.
Get ready for sticky fingers, happy smiles, and donuts that disappear fast!
About the tutor
Food and storytelling sit at the heart of Kristina Naray’s life practice as a cook, host and cultural storyteller, of mixed Bisaya Subanen Filipino and Hungarian heritage. She holds a Bachelor of Health Sciences, majoring in Nutrition and Health Promotion, with her career spanning community nutrition education, and digital health in the healthcare sector, to hosting intimate pop-up lunches and dinners, and teaches cooking workshops, where she shares dishes and practices passed down from her family and communities.
Kristina is part of The Entree Pinays, a collective of entrepreneurial Filipinas introducing Filipino cuisine, culture and community to Australia.
